Thank you to everyone who made the 11th Annual Nevada Women’s Film Festival so special! NWFFest 2025 took place June 19-22, 2025 at the Department of Film at UNLV, in the heart of fabulous Las Vegas. Check out the 2025 Photo Gallery to see how much fun we had!
This year our stunning lineup of 47 films, by and about women, of all genres, came from 13 countries — as well as local Nevadans. Congratulations to all the filmmakers!
In addition to the film blocks, special events this year began on Thursday with the return of the Young Filmmakers’ Showcase. The showcase presented the work of students produced at the Young Filmmakers’ Workshop, an intensive training held at Canyon Springs High School in May. WIF Nevada thanks the Nevada Energy Foundation for funding this popular event.
On Friday, NWFFest welcomed the 2025 Nevada Woman Filmmaker of the Year, Jessica Chandler, who sat down with UNLV Film Associate Chair (and WIF board member), Brett Caroline Levner. Chandler’s innovative body of work was explored, including her exploration of taboo and controversial topics.
Saturday highlights include dour Vanguard honoree, the multi-talented rising actress, Brittany S. Hall. Hall discussed her remarkable career with board member Briana Kennedy, and her powerful drama, Test Pattern, was screened (courtesy of Kino Lorber).
Sunday brought The State of Arts & Culture: More Than Just Sin City. This panel included a lineup of arts and culture leaders who are guiding the Entertainment Capital of the World into the future – beyond the stereotypes – and showcased our dynamic film community.
The festival culminated on Sunday evening with the 11th Annual Femmy Awards. This year’s ceremony kicked off with the 2nd annual Spirit of Community Arts award honoring the visionary Sarah O’Connell for her contributions to the Nevada arts community. A total of 13 filmmaker awards were presented, in traditional categories as well as those unique to NWFFest, such as the Spirit of Activism and Best Female Protagonist.

The iconic Flora Dungan Humanities (FDH) building is the tallest structure on campus and features a newly-renovated screening room!

If using GPS, please enter “Flora Dungan Humanities” rather than the university address or you may be directed to the wrong building.
FDH is located in the southwest area of campus alongside Maryland Pkwy right next to the Student Union. It is the tallest building on campus.
PARKING
Multiple parking options are available in front of (or a very short walk from) the Flora Dungan Humanities Building. Parking is FREE anytime on Thursay June 19th (which is a holiday), after 1 pm on Friday, and anytime on the weekend. Park in any STAFF or Pay by Phone spot for free. Do not park in a reserved spot.
LOT D, directly in front of the building: Summer parking restrictions will be enforced on Friday from 7:00 am – 1:00 pm. During the restricted hours, please select a Pay by Phone spot. The maximum, non-renewal parking time is 2 hours, at a cost of approximately $2 per hour. NOTE: The Pay by Phone location code for Lot D is 29506.
LOT V, directly to the north of the building and accessible on the right via Harmon as you enter campus from Maryland Parkway: This lot offers Pay by Phone parking ONLY. Summer parking restrictions will be enforced from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm, and on Friday from 7:00 am – 1:00 pm. At any time on June 19th (which is a holiday), after 5 pm on Thursday, after 1 pm on Friday, and anytime on the weekend, you may park in any Pay by Phone spot for free. During restricted hours, the maximum, non-renewal parking time is 4 hours, at a cost of approximately $2 per hour. NOTE: The Pay by Phone location code for Lot V is 29538.
HAB LOT, across Maryland Parkway from Flora Dungan Humanities and directly behind the small Graduate Art Studios (GRS). Summer parking restrictions will be enforced from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm, and on Friday from 7:00 am – 1:00 pm. At any time on June 19th (which is a holiday), after 5 pm on Thursday, after 1 pm on Friday, and anytime on the weekend, you may park in any STAFF or STUDENT spot for free. Using Pay by Phone, you may park in any STUDENT spot during restricted hours. NOTE: The Pay by Phone location code for HAB is 29577, which DIFFERS from the code posted at the entrance to the lot (Pay by Phone will be correcting their sign). Please use code 29577 and select “HAB – Student Day Rate.” You may park up to one full day for a maximum cost of $9.00 (no time restriction).
