Test Pattern
Part psychological horror, part realist drama, this exhilarating debut feature from Shatara Michelle Ford is set against the backdrop of national discussions around inequitable health care and policing, the #metoo movement, and race in America. Test Pattern follows an interracial couple whose relationship is put to the test after a Black woman is sexually assaulted and her white boyfriend drives her from hospital to hospital in search of a rape kit. Their story reveals the systemic injustices and social conditioning women face when navigating sex and consent within the American patriarchy. Winner of top prizes at the BlackStar and New Orleans Film Festivals, this gripping social thriller offers a unique exploration of institutional racism and sexism from a Black woman’s point of view. Content warning: This film includes a depiction of sexual assault.

Brittany S. Hall
Brittany S. Hall is a dynamic actress best known for her standout performances in hit series like HBO’s Ballers, Netflix’s Nappily Ever After, alongside Sanaa Lathan, and Issa Rae’s hit series Rap Shit. Her breakout role in Test Pattern earned her both a Gotham Award and Independent Spirit Award nomination, cementing her as a rising force in the indie film world. She also captivated audiences in BET+’s action-packed Imani and the hilarious comedy Three Ways proving her range across genres and platforms.
Beyond the screen, Brittany is the founder of Actors Play LA, an acting studio she originally launched in 2018. The studio quickly became a hub for aspiring artists before temporarily closing its doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Now, in 2025, Brittany is reopening Actors Play LA with a renewed mission to empower actors worldwide through in-person and online classes, workshops, and a new production division dedicated to creating original stories from underrepresented voices.
In addition to her acting career, Brittany spent five years as a spiritual coach, guiding others in self-discovery and transformation through esoteric teachings, somatic practices, and energetic alignment. Now she merges her passion for storytelling and personal growth by writing and producing her own original content. Her mission is to inspire through truth, healing, and humor, creating multidimensional characters and stories that reflect the beauty, complexity, and resilience of the human spirit.
