Nevada Women’s Film Festival (NWFFest) has announced the official selections for its 12th annual festival, taking place March 19–22, 2026, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Department of Film.
Seventy-two films from 15 countries are included across all genres, featuring stories by or about women. Official selections include Nevada-made feature films LOLLY DAGGER EATS SPONGE CAKE by Aaron W. Brown and SUNNY YARD by Trina Colon, along with several short films including DAYLIGHT by Andrea A. Walter. Television episodes from Las Vegas filmmakers are also featured, including Giovannie Espiritu’s MAID TO SHINE. International entries hail from Brazil, Hong Kong, Germany, and more.
In addition to film screenings, the festival will host several panel conversations, including The Vertical Vision, State of the Industry in Nevada, Fundraising and Community Building with the Producers of GAMU-GAMO, and Let’s Talk Intelligently: The Possibility and Perils of Generative AI. The festival culminates with the annual Femmy Awards, which include unique categories such as Best Female Protagonist, Spirit of Activism, and Outstanding LGBTQ+ Representation, alongside traditional filmmaking honors and the announcement of the 2026 Nevada Woman of the Year. Filmmakers and festival-goers will also gather at the official NWFFest party.
NWFFest is the only women’s film festival in the state of Nevada and is produced with grassroots support, engaging a cross-section of the community. Professors, alumni, students, and supporters of the arts contribute to every aspect of the event. Films from around the world are screened alongside regional and Nevada-based work, creating a culturally rich and unique experience for both locals and visitors.
