70,000 Joshua Trees are threatened by a 16-square mile project near Beatty, Nevada. This utility-scale solar project proposal is adjacent the Death Valley National Park in the Sarcobatus Flat basin. This project is just one of dozens being proposed as 9 million acres of public land are opened to solar development. In this third of the series, Desert Apocalypse, we witness the plant and animal ecosystems at stake, and explore alternatives for addressing both the climate and biodiversity crises.
