Synopsis

In Her Element is from Reese Witherspoon’s media company Hello Sunshine and HPE, about the next generation of women in technology. The film features three revolutionary female pioneers using technology to advance their fields, while inspiring other women to join them in breaking through barriers. The film is hosted by lawyer and best-selling author Meena Harris, who leads a conversation with the three subjects — a rocket scientist, a music engineer and a team principal for a Formula E racing team.

Filmed with state-of-the-art XR, “extended reality” technology, the physical backdrop of the interviews is an immersive screen where documentary elements are deployed and interacted with to illustrate, contextualize and energize the conversation.

Kate Kunath

Kate Kunath is an Emmy Award winning Director and Executive Producer/Showrunner, known for her documentary, non-fiction and branded works. Her most recent film Show Me the Way (Topic.com) was shortlisted in 2019 for the InternationalIDA Awards (IDA). Kunath was awarded a 2018 Primetime Emmy in the category of Outstanding Short Form Non- Fiction Series for Anthony Bourdain: Explore Parts Unknown: Little Los Angeles, which she Directed and Executive Produced. The series also won a James Beard Award, a Webby and an Adweek ARC Award. In 2017 she directed and produced, Anthony Bourdain: Explore Parts Unknown/ Catalunya, The Return, which won the 2018 People’s Voice Webby in travel and adventure as well as the PromaxBDA Gold Excellence award for a branded content campaign.
